Wear is one of the main causes of roll loss.Adding lubricant to roll pass surface is the most effective way to reduce roll wear.Generally, there are three ways to add lubricant to the roll pass surface：

1. Add pure lubricant to roll.

2. The lubricant is added to the cooling water of the mill and sprayed onto the roll pass surface through the mill cooling system.

3. Mix water and lubricant in a predetermined proportion，spray the roll pass through a nozzle separate from the mill cooling system.
